March kept us busy...
Youth Dance Festival - I was asked to help with this year's Stake Youth Dance Festival. I choreographed a little waltz to the song "Married Life" from the movie "UP." The kids were great to work with & it turned out to be a great event!
Quick Visit with T-Dolly who was in San Francisco to teach at a Borbaletta training. We were able to take her to dinner.
Aloha with the Bassetts - Leah & family took advantage of our timeshare in Kauai & invited us to tag along. It was fun to share our favorite island with such cute critters!
While we were there we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary!
Superheroes on Mt Zion - Our stake had an "indexing" challenge to try to get the members familiar with the online program that allows volunteers to transcribe valuable genealogical records to make them easily searchable online. We started with the youth in the ward so they could all go home & walk their parents through it. They indexed 356 records in an hour! We challenged the members that anyone who did any indexing could earn this superhero button (designed by our very own Jill).
Later on the Relief Society sisters had an indexing night & Paul (the Bishop) hosted a "Breakfast & Indexing" activity for the entire ward & had all those with experience walk people through the process so they could help in this great service effort.
Speech & Debate - We got to catch Adia & Avery in action at one of their tournaments. These girls are becoming excellent arguers! They'd make great lawyers!
Time marches on, for each one of us,
The beat of its drum, carries on without fuss.
But amidst its beats, come the events in our life,
Some happy & sad, & some that cause strife.
The passage of time, softens the edge,
Smooths out the bumps, & acts as a wedge.
Time’s a diluter, that takes out the bite,
It heals what’s gone wrong, until its alright.
Given enough time, we will all turn to dust,
Cars, trains & ships, will all turn to rust.
To return to the earth, from where they all came,
With the passage of time, nothing stays quite the same.
