Sleepover at the Riverhouse...

It's been a month since our wonderful surprise party...we still can't believe it! We recognize the great effort it takes to pull off such a surprise like this & it still amazes us that our kids were able to make it happen. In order for them to get us out of the house for the party, Kyle & Amy told their kids that we (G'ma & G'pa) were coming over to pick them up & take them back to the Riverhouse for a sleepover! The little ones were pretty excited about this & were VERY disappointed when they realized that wasn't the plan after all. Adia & Avery knew what was happening, but they weren't sure the littles would be able to keep a secret so they let them believe they were actually spending the night with us. Well, a couple of weeks ago, we thought we should try to make it up to them, so we picked them up so we could have that sleepover... We met them at their Classical Conversations' Family Night & watched each class give their presentations. They did such a great job!

That next day the kids helped us gather some brush for a bonfire...

It was a beautiful day & we were glad to be outside after all the rain we've had. We are patiently waiting for the fire to burn down so we could use the coals to cook some hotdogs for lunch...

Kenyon had a loose tooth that was bugging him. I tricked him into letting me pull it out. Kids get so excited about loosing their teeth...

We busted out the bee-bee guns for a little target practice...

We finally finished Avery's quilt. She chose the fabrics & the colors & helped me layout the pattern. G'ma Middleton helped my tie the quilt when she was up for General Conference. Avery was happy with how it turned out & glad to finally be able to take it home...

We always have a great time playing with our g'kids & we appreciate their parents for sharing them with us. They were such good sports about our surprise weekend & we are glad we could have that sleepover after all!

You guys are fun grandparents! Avery's quilt turned out cute and I'm not surprised she wanted soccer related fabrics!

Isn't it wonderful to have grandkids close? Don't we just wish they were all closer. What a great time.
