Labor Day...a little rain didn't keep these River Rats from a little kayaking fun...
Super fun & crazy Mutual Night - glow in the dark balloon ball! Drop a glow stick inside a balloon, blow it up & tie it. Place one goalie on a chair on one end of the court, other team's goalie on the other. LIGHTS OUT! Teams must tap the balloon (like volleyball, no carrying & running) towards their goalie to score. We had matching glow sticks on our arms to tell our teams apart...
Annual Ward BBQ - We've hosted our annual ward BBQ the past few years & this year we had another great turn out! Great food, great fun, & great friends!
G'kids' Sports...
Avery is a soccer star! She is so much fun to watch & such a hard worker!
Stealing a quick hug after one of this her games!
Cade is an intense player - very versatile, confident & extremely competitive!
Carson is following his brothers' footsteps & is enjoying success in athletics. I was pretty excited to get a good shot of his reaction to this goal he scored!
However, it is the smile on his face when he runs through the "Fans' Tunnel" at the end of the game that tickles me the most...
Ethan finally got to play his favorite sport this year & he was in heaven! He seems so small compared to most, but he is not afraid to get in there & hit!
Trevor is working hard in Scouting, too - he has earned his 1st Class rank. I love it when I get to add to his collection of merit badges & sew on his latest achievements!
We met Ben & Dara for dinner at one of Ben's buddy's relatively new Korean-fusion restaurant, Burnt Rice. It is located in The Plant - the old GE Plant has been turned into a great new shopping center! It is called Burnt Rice because their signature dish is a soup like pot with rice on the bottom & as the pot cooks, the rice gets brown & crunchy - delicious! And who doesn't love kimchee & Korean BBQ?
My Bubs - On my way to Bakersfield, I stopped for the evening at Uncle T's for a nice visit. I love staying in their Wizard of Oz room!
Mom/G'ma got a new ride!
We enjoyed a little comfort food from Smith's bakery...
September's Full Moon Hiker's Club took the Temple Lights path on the opposite side of the freeway. If you look closely you can see the Temple lit up & the moonlight on the water...it was beautiful!
That just gets us half way through September! We got to go to Seattle & then to Utah to meet our newest grandson, but I'm saving that for separate posts.
