Ben was pretty bummed that they weren't going to be able to come to the family reunion. He is so happy to be a daddy & he was really looking forward to "showing off" baby Ryan to everyone. Of course, Ryan's health was the biggest concern & they kept a vigil with her in the hospital. Over a few weeks period, some of Ben's siblings went out of their way to show them some love & visit them in the hospital while they were here! Since Ryan was in the PICU, kids weren't allowed to visit so they had to wait in the waiting room while their parents came to meet baby Ryan. Uncle Ben & Aunt Dara came out for hugs, too...
The Midgets Facetimed with Cindi while they were in the waiting room so they could meet Ryan, too!
Rochelle & Brent came to meet Ryan on their way to take da boyz to Great America...
Nicole & Terri made a day trip to meet Ryan & give their brother some love...
Leah got to swing by on their way back from their Bassett Reunion...
We are so very grateful to Ryan's doctors & the hospital for the excellent care she received that brought her through such a difficult & dangerous situation!
While Cindi was in San Jose, we met our friends Jill & Vanessa for lunch at a park...
We visited with G'ma & G'pa Fudge. Lucie was very interested in G'ma's treasures & she was very patient to tell her all about them...
The Midgets were first to arrive for the reunion. They wanted some down time to play & enjoy the River. Cindi also planned all of the games for us this year & we spent some extra time getting things ready. Of course, with the drought, the River was super low! But that didn't stop the Midgets from exploring - they loved that they could actually walk across to the other side!
Terri & Christi showed up early, too, so Nicole came up to visit on her day off. Can't resist a good selfie session...
Nothing says fun like a little cousin time! We played outside, broke in G'ma's new John Deer jeep, went swimming at Rochelle's, & G'pa read stories...
Jill showed up next & added to the fun with cousins. I've collected several "ride it" toys over the years & the kids put them to good use on the ATV/Bike trail G'pa made for them. With our numbers, there is always someone learning to ride a 2 wheeler - this year, it was Roman. Our long driveway with the roundabout provides a great practice area that instills the confidence needed for success! Roman was a pro by the time they left!
The kids were excited to try out the Christmas present they got us last year...this new swing is awesome!
I always try to provide an activity/lesson for FHE for those who are here on Monday night...followed by the favored Annual Karaoke Party...anyone who wants to perform or sing can do so - we practice how to take turns & be a polite audience, too.
Kyle & Amy invited everyone over to their new house for swimming & dinner. We had a blast!
Our oldest grandchildren, Adia & Trevor, are "real people" now & I love that they are such good friends! They are also so good to their younger cousins who really do look up to them. They set the bar pretty high & are such great examples for the little ones to follow...
Slumber parties in the playroom always sound like a great idea, but the reality is they always end up finding their parents in the middle of the night...
With the kids asleep, the moms start their shenanigans. Terri is working her eyelash extension magic on Cindi but it was too much excitement for me - I headed for bed myself...as did Jill & Christi shortly after they snapped this photo...
A little reunion prep...
More exploring the low River...
Cute cousins ready for the reunion...
