Nicole inspired us to participate in The Run to Feed the Hungry in downtown Sacramento, sponsored by the local food bank. We decided to do the 5K with her. It was a beautiful morning to donate to a good cause...
...along with 28,000 other peeps!
There were so many participants it took a good 5-10 minutes before anyone could bust out into a run! I had no intention of "running" but I did start out in a jog wanting to get some action shots of Nicole & Paul (far right)...
...but as you can see running with a camera = fuzzy pictures. So I let them take off & settled into a brisk pace & took in the scenery...
The course took us from Sacramento State University through the beautiful tree-lined streets of East Sac by McKinley Park & through the "fabulous forties" (the beautiful homes from 40th Street to 56th Street)...spectacular homes!
There were people along the way encouraging the participants...& towards the end - bands & other entertainment...
Even Elvis...
It took Nicole & Paul about 30 minutes...I made it in about an hour...they got my donation either way!
It was a great way to start our Thanksgiving Day & heart warming to see so many others willing to help in a fun way. Thankful to be able to share...
As soon as we got back & showered, we got to work in the kitchen...I put together this little turkey veggie tray - (Thankful for Pinterest!)
Rochelle got to work on a 9 layer dip & Aunt Linda brought Aunt Laura's crab dip...YUM!
Cindy & Troy's daughter, Nicole, set a beautiful table for us...
And there was a whole lot of Football...inside & out!
And what is Thanksgiving Day without Black Friday Ads? Rochelle had the boys circle things they would like for Christmas - certainly easier than a "Dear Santa" letter!
Of course I had my camera out taking photos of whoever would let me...& whoever wouldn't let me!
Troy & Cindy...
Rochelle & Brent...
Love my girls...
Nicole even took a little photo shoot of us & I got caught in the black berry bushes - snagged me good!
Some people weren't as excited about my photo taking...
Aunt Linda was ready to toss a pie at me...& Uncle Rex was busy making his world famous whipped cream!
Both Nicole's agreed that dinner was delicious!
So thankful for a wonderful family near & far!
And good friends! Lisa Ott joined us for the weekend & it was fun to catch up with her. We walked through Coloma and later we took her up the Monroe Ridge for a sunset hike...she wasn't too crazy about the sign at the trail head...
The view at the top is pretty awesome! You can see the whole Coloma Valley...thankful for this beautiful place!
The next day we went to the temple - it was nice to spend the time there with such a dear friend. Thankful for the peace the gospel brings...
Hope you found reasons to be thankful this wonderful time of year.

Believe it or not, we really are 'thankful' that you are the family photographer. :)
Crab dip? I need.
Such fun pictures! Love your turkey veggie display. Olivia would have loved that!
That picture of (little) Nicole made me tear up. All the sudden she is so grown up!
