Olympic Coast - Day 1

Penelope's baptism conveniently fell on Labor Day Weekend, so we took advantage of the holiday & made our way up to the Olympic Coast! Of course, some of us got restless on the long drive & needed to get the wiggles out, so Kiff stopped at castle park in Port Angeles...

Macy used her 4th grade clout & got us into the national parks for FREE! It's part of the government's "Every Kid in a Park" program that allows anyone accompanying a 4th grader to get free admission to the national parks in an effort to encourage more visitors to these national treasures!

We live in such a beautiful part of the world & we LOVE our national parks! Hurricane Ridge did NOT disappoint us with a great trail hike & a spectacular view!

We had some pretty tired peeps after that little hike. We stopped at Lake Crescent for lunch - so peaceful! I wouldn't mind a weekend getaway here sometime...

Next we made our way over to see if we could see the salmon swim up stream. We were a little bit early in the season, but we did see a few. It's amazing to watch them literally "jump" from cascading pool to cascading pool!

One last stop before we called it a night...

We rolled into town way too late to get dinner or check out the place - but here we are the next morning ready to find a good breakfast & enjoy another day full of adventures! Look how cute these little cabins are!!!
