CANCUN

We spent a few days in Cancun, Mexico at "The Moon Palace," an all inclusive resort - we love our "good neighbor" trips! We were especially excited to see Chichen Itza (one of the New 7 Wonders of the World)- we are big history buffs & we enjoyed touring these ancient Mayan ruins. It is amazing what you can discover about a civilization from what they leave behind! Makes you kinda want to clean up after yourself!

We also took a jungle excursion. We rode bikes in the Yucantan jungle, swam in these incredibly beautiful "cenotes" (underground rivers/wells). We had to walk down into these caves with stalagtites everywhere & we actually swam around in them. Of course they discouraged cameras because of the lighting & all the water (but naturally their photographer was there & took incredible pictures for a small fortune which we did not surrender to them & consequently have no photos of this to prove that we actually did such a thing), then we finished the adventure zip-lining through the canope. (We did manage to sneak the camera in on this part!)

G'pa Paul & G'ma Jenny --- "Me Tarzan, you Jane!"

The water was beautiful, the weather was perfect, & it just doesn't get any better than this!

Paul got to scuba dive on the Palancar Reef near Cozumel and says it was one of the best dives he's ever had...but alas, no underwater photography. Here he is relaxing on our balcony that had a great view of the ocean.

While Paul enjoyed his dive, I enjoyed a little R&R workin on my tan & reading a couple of books.

The highlight of the trip was the special entertainment they provided. Our "good neighbors" brought in "World Classic Rockers" - a band made up of lead vocalists & guitarist from Journey, Boston, Toto, Steppenwolf, Lynyrd Skynyrd, & Santana! (Check out their website http://www.wcr.com/page.cfm) They played all the great hits from these bands for over 2 1/2 hours! Paul was in "CLASSIC ROCK HEAVEN!"

No one knew when you guys were coming home. Terri said she got a few phone calls from siblings asking her but she had no idea. I finally called Lucy at the office and she gave me the scoop. That is, after telling me that Ben had already called asking the same thing. Here you are, all your kids grown and out of the house (well, kinda) and you still can't enjoy a vacation in peace. Anyway - I hope that doesn't make you feel like you have incompetent/dependent children. You were just missed, that's all.

What a great trip!! I can't wait to go again myself. The last time I went, I got stung by a jelly fish...not my idea of fun!
